The National Alliance for Public Charter Schools is canceling the in-person annual National Charter Schools Conference and holding a virtual conference in July 2020. Please read the message received today from NAPCS:

As one of our closest partners, I am reaching out to give an update on our latest thinking about the 2020 National Charter Schools Conference, given the rapid spread and public health impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

We have decided to cancel the in-person event in Florida and are excited to announce a virtual convening which will take place in July. This will be an opportunity to focus on remote learning, re-opening in the fall, and reimagining what school will be in the future. More details about the upcoming event and registration will be available on Monday, May 18.

We know that communities, families, schools, partners—and youth themselves—depend on their schools to keep them safe and provide services—even during times of challenge and crisis. And yet COVID-19 has significantly impacted PreK-12 schools. Many charter schools and their partners are eager to connect, share best practices, learn from others in the sector, and rebuild community.

We will be in touch soon to give you information on next steps, as we know them.
During these challenging and uncertain times, we encourage everyone to prioritize the health and safety of themselves and their loved ones.

Best,
Todd Ziebarth
