Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) Congratulates Indy Goodwin Mack, Winner of Prestigious Statewide Award for Teachers 

Teacher at FCPCS member school, Jefferson County Somerset Charter School, wins Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Award from the Florida Department of Education. 

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 28, 2021) – The Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) is congratulating a teacher at one of its member schools for winning a statewide leadership award from the Florida Department of Education. 

Mrs. Indy Goodwin Mack, who teaches at Jefferson County Somerset Charter School in Monticello, Fla., recently received the Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Award as part of the 2022 Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Awards Program.  Sarah Ann Painter of Pinellas County was named Florida’s 2022 Teacher of the Year. 

According to the Florida Department of Education, the Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Award presented to Indy Goodwin Mack “is given to an educator who upholds the belief that every single student deserves to have a teacher that is as good or better than the very best teacher any of us ever had.”  The late Dr. Brian Dassler was the former Florida Department of Education Deputy Chancellor for Educator Quality. 

Indy Goodwin Mack was previously named Jefferson Somerset’s Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2022.
