Two Member Schools of the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS) Honored as 2024 National Blue Ribbon Schools U.S. Department of Education Recognizes Two FCPCS Member Schools: Somerset Academy Davie Charter School and HIVE Preparatory School in Miami WASHINGTON, D.C., (September 25, 2024) – Two member schools of the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools have been recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2024 by the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. The award-winning schools are Somerset Academy Davie Charter School in Davie and HIVE Preparatory School in Miami. They are two of 356 U.S. public and private schools recognized this year for their overall academic performance or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Of the 356 schools, eight percent are public charter schools. Somerset Academy Davie Charter School is honored as an Exemplary High Performing School for 2024. This is the third time it has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, having been previously honored in 2011 and 2017. HIVE Preparatory School in Miami is also honored as an Exemplary High Performing School for 2024. In May, it earned a national first place Building Hope Award and a $20,000 grant for its impressive track record in educational performance and family engagement. "The Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools congratulates our two newest National Blue Ribbon Schools,” said Robert Haag, President of FCPCS. “We congratulate them for their achievements and for their membership in FCPCS.” Each award-winning school receives a flag that identifies the school as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2024.
