2025 Florida Charter School Fact Sheet Shows 739 Charter Schools Serving 396,522 Students 396,522 charter school students is 13.8 percent of the total number of K-12 students enrolled in Florida public schools FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 28, 2024) – The 2025 Florida Charter School Fact Sheet counts 739 charter schools providing educational opportunities to 396,522 Florida students. The fact sheet was recently issued by the Florida Consortium of Public Charter Schools (FCPCS), the leading charter school membership association in the state. The 2025 totals represent an additional 29 Florida charter schools and 14,155 more students over last year’s fact sheet. The increase of 14,155 students equates to an increase of 3.7 percent over the previous year’s total of 382,367 students. The 396,522 charter school students in Florida is 13.8 percent of the overall number of K-12 students enrolled in Florida public schools, up from 13.3 percent in the previous year. Heading into 2025, charter schools operate in 48 of Florida’s 67 counties. The number is an increase of one county from last year’s total.
